Not only majestic camel caravans do their good job within killer circumstances of the Sahara, but also specially equiped trucks and their specially trained pilots do their thousands of kilometers for living, for example here around Tazolé, Niger: on Zoom Earth imagery: ZE image linkand from the same location, on Google Earth imagery: Recent stage of updates - 6 sights of truck transport in the Sahara: Desert transport trucks.kmz (1.39 KB)

Just have added two placemarks for related GPhoto locations. Besides these are probably off-positioned, both are good examples of the motored transport situation in the Sahara...: Full size image URLs and coordinates for image#1>>21.946708, 13.643990<< at Madama and for image#2>>18.712446, 7.347083<< at Akokan. Any other related spottings welcome! *** Updated kmz file attached to OP. ... edit by addition: smaller vehicle (pickup?) hits dirt on ZE imagery in Mali.

Yep. That looks pretty stuck. Hopefully he was in a sand train... Otherwise it's a long walk home...
