In this thread let me introduce an artist couple from France through their giant rooftop- wall- and asphalt murals (by some exceptions pieces of their Sleepy Giants Project), which ones I can locate on GE. I name placemarks numbered, in order as I have found the pieces, but a main difference with my other streetart thread that in this case I try to create also overlays for some where needed by ones where good angle photo available of the ground-mural. I can do so as these selected pieces painted on horizontal canvases of the urban texture. (In most cases I cannot fit better overlays to GE imagery, because of different aerial photo angles. Still think these are pretty cool to watch also this way.) - Overlays in folder are off as default. In many cases, where no overlay, no relevant GE imagery available worth to check the 3D Buildings layer. Sorry for broken image links that might appear in thread and kmz as well! - these will be fixed... at once. First one listed in attached kmz folder -'Lilith and Olaf'- seems to be the world’s largest outdoor mural*: (*EDIT: It is not anymore! - Check No.70!) Useful link collection: *** ellapitr (fra) *** widewalls *** streetartnews ***muralform***Recent stage of updates: 70 places located (overlays for 22), gratis 'extras' folder with stickers, picture frame- and name graffities, other related gadgets to E&P can be found on StreetView. ELLA PITR.kmz (21.45 KB) Attached kmz file only available here on the every-time "Live" GE Community Forums, which is now self-sponsored.If You make good use of this dataset, please donate our community! Thank You!

These are remarkable, syzygy, thanks so much for posting this. It was really fun to take a look myself! They are so whimsical, they remind me of illustrations for high-quality children's books where the giants are more endearing than scary. The details are witty: gold jewelry on the t-shirted "gangster," red nail polish on several of them, high heels, tiny people painted on some giants...

Hi Diane! So glad you like it! Also was a great fun for me to collect and overlay. However it seems something needs some clearing up: ..., tiny people painted on some giants... Visit image source pages and check on full images that these are not painted, but drone made "selfies" of the artist couple, in many cases joined by company. (co-workers and/or friends and children) Kind couple with cute subject of art. HERE another streetart thread of mine with a bit less cute mode of expression by mural painting. (in case you have missed) Best, g

From the beginning I have made tries to find this one in the megapolis, finally 3D Buildings layer helped me out again. Not that the mural is visible on the 3D building ( edit: it is not (anymore)), but could identify surrounding buildings by tilted angle view. On historical imagery the mural (something) is visible from 2/2014 for a few months. Rain in Santiago done its work in these two months. Have made a walk in St. Etienne by StreetView and have bumped into several other works by Ella&Pitr on the streets of their hometown. Besides 4 more smaller-bigger wall and garage door paints (placemark No.52 - No.55.) a new 'extras' folder have been added by this last update, in which I put up some other miscellaneous "gadgets" related to the artist couple. ( stickers, the ' cake wall', frame- and name graffities, ...) Screenie of the most recent finding: No.55.: St. Etienne #13 - Theatre de Tardy-, France (wall paint, date unknown) Three questions on the extras would to be answered: 1. COLT/PITR stickers - what to know about it? is that our Pitr? then who is that Colt guy? 2. what could be known about the birthday cakes' wall? 3. the OLGA/PIOTR garffiti were they? -was that some name-variant? EDIT / 12.jan.2017:Have registered but seem to be a bit shy to do a reply so let me quote here answers by the artists I have got in e-mail: Have already edited placemarks' descriptions in 'extras' folder. ...the one on the runway. It seems strange that she would be allowed to do that... Then you will find more strange this one. A listed building vandalized at first glance. I think they got permission before some facade renovation of the castle (or another explanation can be that this is easy to remove). Really a minor update, the more important for me since Ella and Pitr now representing also in my town. Besides other smaller gifts I got stickers from the artist couple and spent a lot of time to choose suitable scenes to stick them. The first two Ella&Pitr stickers on the drain pipe by the entrance of an old favorite pub of mine have been sticked by me few days ago: This kind of update will not cause more 'bump-replies' in the future, only made this post by the occasion of their first appearance on Hungarian streets.
