Okay. This maybe the wrong place to post this on F&G. However, I have been trying to locate these church ruins for over a month without any success. Not sure how to post the video, but I have the link below. It is a video of Murray Head singing the Jesus Christ Superstar musical video which I believe is the best. Back in 1972, it was the first musical I ever attended with my wife while on a military duty in London. It still remains as my favorite of all time. I believe these church ruins are in Battersea Park area using background information for the tower and some windows but historical views and images have not given me any success. I would appreciate any guesses as to this church. At the 2:20 and 3:10 mark are some background images.

I think the church in the video is no longer there. St. Peter's is a possiblity as it burned in 1970. Some sources state the video was made in 1969 so if that's true it can't be St. Peter's (which from photos appears to be too small). This is a picture of a methodist church on Plough Road, which no longer exists, but I can't find the name. You could try asking at the Old Battersea pictures facebook group:

The No. 7 Gas Holder on Prince of Wales Drive, Battersea looks like the tower in the video and Battersea/Nine Elms sure seems to be the area. I found this church with what I assume is the same or similar tower. There is a 9/1999 GE sat view, but half of the area where the church stands is not visible. If that is the correct gas tower, and based on the "pipe" running up the side of the tower and how it appears in the videoi, I wonder if the demolished church was across the tracks, near Queen's Circus. I think Utapao found the place, and they did build a chapel where the church was. The SV shows it. The two entrance arches are still there.

I am not convinced, because the buildings in the background did not match with the houses in the clip. Carmel church houses: In the clip: I found a better match with the houses on Queenstown Road in Front of Lurline gardens: So I found a new church nearby with the name "All Saints Church". It is a modern church, built after the original church was destroyed by fire in 1969. The new one was constructed on the site of the former Church Hall, not the site of the burned down church. I found this picture of the destroyed All Saints church. That matches this one in the clip: The location was probably at the corner of Lurline Gardens and Queenstown Road, where there is now a recent housing block.

I had seen the houses too @walter and in fact I had copied a frame from the video at the exact same scene, to help me search for the houses in SV 😄. But I finally figured they'd been demolished like the church. Turns out I was wrong, you seem to have found the place. The two church images are indeed a perfect match!

indeed, walter (again) made a hell of a great job, this all saints church (@ 51.4773057,-0.1497124) must be the one in the jesus christ superstar video "interesting" is, there is not a lot of information about the (old) church and the fire in 1969 on the net... so far, i found only 1 website with only 1 picture: boroughphotos.org/wandsworth/the-altar-all-saints-church-battersea/and this picture kind of matches with a scene of the video: The Altar, All Saints Church, Battersea, c1925: kudos to Walter_V_R ! ...who is a superstar too!

Walter_V_R is a superstar. My first look was at Queenstown Road in Front of Lurline gardens because of the windows, but I could not find any info on an old church ruins or demolishing there or a match to the white ornamentation. But Walter found it and Krenek did his matching piece. I did send a request to the Battersea Park group at the link proveded by Why2K, but no response. Thank all of you very much for helping me solve this mystery that had been driving me more insane than I already am. MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL at F&G.

Damn, I've had the Jesus Christ Superstar tune in my head for three days now, can't get rid of it! I found myself humming it several times today. I can sympathize. Since the OP featured Murray Head, I have had one of his other megahits bouncing around my head -- "One Night in Bangkok". It is driving me crazy.
