In the last weeks of WW2 the Groves (ALSOS) Commission initiated 'Operation Paperclip' - an organized effort to round up and interrogate German nuclear scientists in order to gauge the progress of German physics toward a viable nuclear weapon. To this end Farm Hall, an MI6 and SOE facility, was converted into a prison for the 10 captured nuclear physicists. The house and grounds were bugged in order to listen in on the scientist's private conversations, especially to their reaction to the strike on Hiroshima. All evidence points to the conclusion the Nazi Germany was very far from an atomic bomb. (The time slider set to 1945 shows very little change in the house and grounds).
