(Set time slider to 12/1945.) At 16:45 a V-2 rocket impacted between Court Road and Kynaston Road. The majority of the houses on these two streets were severely damaged with many roofs blown off. ( Modern Google views of these houses show the number of repaired roofs!) At number 88 Kynaston, Ivy Millichamp was killled while making a cup of tea in her kitchen. Twenty three other individuals were injured. Ivy was the final civilian death in England resulting from WW2. This incident marks the end of the vergeltungswaffe zwei (retribution weapon two) campaign against England. Approximately 1358 V-2's struck London (totals vary) resulting in 2754 deaths and 6523 injuries. (numbers vary). Last V-2 to fall on England..kmz (1.35 KB)
