Rules: Everyone can make a question to me here in this thread in order to narrow the searches, but only once. My answer can be only "yes" or "no". For example, some valid answers can be: "Is this place in Russia?", or "Does this place hold a World Record of some kind?". An unvalid answer is "What country is this place in?" The answers are like hints, but you can decide what to ask to me. The ones that can guess the place with the fewest (or better, none) of the questions answered, is the coolest geographer out there Hoping this is a bit harder then the previous ones, let's go!

EDIT : ndrqu, for me with about a 9 hour time shift, the YES/NO type puzzle does not really work; it takes too long between question & answer. Sorry!

Only three players have answered, so I remind you: ask questions if you want hints! my answers are the hints.I'll be honest with you, ndrqu: I lose my motivation for asking a question the minute I see that this can be found without any questions. Clues are different, they can narrow the search down quite a bit, and give us a push in the right direction or even right to the answer. But yes-no questions, you need at least twenty of them just to narrow it down to the right country, which means twenty different players doing the puzzle (one question each - I don't know why you want that rule btw). And you never get twenty players for a puzzle as you can see. The only way a yes-no question could be useful is if I already know the answer (or get impossibly lucky). By the way, hhgygy, I looked for this on VirtualGlobeTrotting and couldn't find it. If that's not the website, I don't know which one you're referring to.

Ok I see the problem, I will give an hint then Hint: This place is one of the biggest and most important of its kind. You can find it on wikipedia in a list that contains all the places like this one, once you figure out what this is.

The list contains all places in every category that one can think of Well then I'm sorry to disappoint, there is not a clear way of finding the list I am talking about from that page. Probably by going for "List of places in [country]", but that kind of search would be too aleatory. The correct way is to look at the image, and think of what this thing can be, and google

once you figure out what this is. It's precisely a clue to what it is that we need. Once we've figured out what it is, the job is almost done, we probably know what to do, like looking for a list of them in wiki, we don't need a clue to that. I hope you understand my clue to how to give clues.

Look at R821989's picture, you can CLEARLY see what that is. Try some keywords, it's totally possible.

"that wouldn't be a puzzle anymore if I told you what that is" That's not what I said. I said "a clue to what it is". I've noticed that some people (especially the ones that are very good at solving puzzles, which kind of makes sense) do not really understand what a clue is. It is not the answer. It is just a clue to it. And it is not a clue to what we already know (like, I've figured out the place is in New York, and the clue is "USA") or a method ("use two keywords in Google", as if I had not tried already!). It is a clue that brings something. I wish all the puzzle posters had that in mind.

Last Hint: This is a ship graveyard That's what I figured when you said "Look at R821989's picture". In fact, when I first saw the OP image, I thought "those fields are shaped like boats", but were they fields? Paths? Hard to tell at the time. Even now, I barely see "ships". After you mentioned R821989's picture, I googled for those things, but there were long lists of such places. "The biggest" I checked, nothing matches. Will wait. I don't know how the others found it pre-clue.

Solution: All you had to do is understand that in the picture is shown a very turbid water area, with the shapes of ships under and over its surface. Googling for "Ship Graveyard" or "Ship Cemetery" leads you to this Wikipedia page --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_graveyard with a list of the most famous ship graveyards. Mallows Bay in the US, contained in that list, is the solution.

I just found one method and explained it in my solution, but I don't know every method possible
