Heinz-Steyer-Stadion. The stadium was the selected by the RAF as a marking point for the February 13 air raid on the city of Dresden. It was illuminated by Pathfinder Mosquitos using flares and bomb aimers were instructed to use this landmark as a point from which to fan out before dropping their bombs on the city. This strategy would ensure a even distribution of destruction.
