Saw this on a science TV channel recently. Approximately 50 years ago, a man with a vision to revolutionize a certain industry proved his vision in reality. However, his government crushed his vision due to various issues.
This is one end of his testing facility which still partially stands.
This building houses the remaining items involved in his testing.
Locate the long testing area and the building where the test items are located. Satellite views only please.

{Spoiler} A world speed record was set in the early 1970's for this category of vehicle on a track nearly 20km in length.

What was the best way to find it ? The clues were vague and pointed to so many different things... also, the coords don't seem to match the first image, I still can't find it. Even more frustrating as I've known about this thing ever since I was a kid.

Thanks johnluke. I hope this corrects my omission that you identified.
{Spoiler} The Coord in the Answer were the north end of the track. You are correct, I should have also identified the coordinates of the south end (Saran) which was my original image. To correct the omission, the coordinates are 47°57'29.2"N 1°53'33.5"E Thanks for helping me fix my error. The story of this visionary and his work were both fascinating and amazing for his perseverance.

Thank you Dagger66. This story is well-known here at least to my generation, but I never made the mental connection, as there have been many visionaries whose visions have been crushed by governments all over the world... but in this case it would have been very difficult to change or rebuild a whole network... or build a parallel one to the former one. Too expensive, too long. It was appealing, but not realistic. I feel bad for the inventor who believed in it.

Thanks Krenek, I'm going to read that. I just realised that the monorail track is visible in the puzzle image ! And THAT'S how you solve this without a clue! Kudos to Walter who has the smarts and the eagle eye! I did see the regular railtrack next to it, but never saw the Aerotrain's monorail ! The sad irony is this image shows what the problem was with this thing: you would have to build a new railroad parallel to the old one all over the country, and that wasn't feasible at all. It wasn't some government conspiracy that "crushed his vision", it was common sense. Better make a very fast train that can use the already built regular tracks. That's how the TGV was born.
