Thank you krenek , Walter_V_R , CuriousJM and lockhopper . You had me stumped for a while here Krenek, I didn't recognize the place because of the angle and because I haven't been to that area in years (and I haven't been there that often anyway) Yes, I could get lost in my own town I suppose.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ..... JOHNLUKE, You Crazy Frenchman !!
Thank you, dagger66 ! Crazy ? Me ? Flattery will get you nowhere. I have two questions : 1) Do all Americans really think that's what a Frenchman looks like ? And 2) Where did you get that photo of me ?

I lived in Europe 18 years and visited France many times. No, we don't think French men look like this, but I think it is an old version of Frenchmen in the vintage American movies and old cartoons. I meant crazy in a good flattering way. You are uncanny, enthusiastic and passionate about F&G. I found the image when searching French birthday images.

I meant crazy in a good flattering way. You are uncanny, enthusiastic and passionate about F&G. I found the image when searching French birthday images. I was only joking, Dagger, as my second question suggested. I knew you spent a long time in Europe, and even have been to Dijon! I get the baguette, wine, béret and even the scarf (I have a couple of scarves ), and what's missing here is the onions. But for a long time I wondered about that striped shirt. What does it have to do with the French ? And I learned only recently that the striped shirt look and the onions come from breton sailors who crossed the English Channel to England in the old days and went door to door in english towns and villages to sell onions. I'm not quite sure if this is true or an urban legend, but I like it.
