Hi - can anyone help me identify this ship? It's a RoRo/LMSR ship that belongs to the US Navy. It looks like it belongs to the Watson-class of ships: but none of the ships in that class have the two circles pattern like this one. Has the same two circle pattern as USNS Pililaau (T-AKR-304), but has a different bow than that ship. All the imagery I can find of the Watson-class that shows an overhead view (and thus can ID the ship) are pretty old. I think this ship is an overhauled version of the Watson-class ships, but not sure which one. I'm leaning towards USNS Soderman or USNS Sisler (as these were in the Bayonne Dry Dock at one point recently), but can't confirm. Diego Garcia - 10/8/2016 - (7°17'14.41"S 72°26'34.91"E) New York Drydock - 6/25/2019 - (40°39'47.34"N 74° 4'17.68"W)

Are you on about the flight deck marking between the aft pair of cranes and the Bridge Superstructure?

This is a photo of USNS Sisler in BIOT in Dec 2019. photos.marinetraffic.com/ais/showphoto.aspx?photoid=4065635&size=1600I would have to conclude that Sisler is out for New York. Another discovery I have noticed though it is no way conclusive yet. When I find a picture of any from the class and they have black hulls and white superstructure, they have twin circles on the flight deck, when they are grey all over, they have a single circle on the flight deck.

I found a photo of USNS Pomeroy (T-AKR-316) in said dry dock which is dated Jan 2019. Using the historical slider I would have to pin my money on the images between Feb 19, 2019 as her having not long entering the dock all in grey to the Jun 26, 2019 image just before she left in the new Black and White scheme with 2 circles on the flight deck. photos.marinetraffic.com/ais/showphoto.aspx?photoid=3808012&size=800The images prior to these would suggest the end shot of the previous ship in that dock (Gordon Class), and the post image of those dates was the start of the next ship's refit (Another Watson Class).
