One of the most charming sporting events is Surfing Dog contests. What's more delightful than a surfing dog? Nothing! This handsome girl is Booker D. Surfdog, a champ who took the title at the first East Coast Dog Surfing Championship at Cocoa Beach, Florida, in 2013. Here she was looking steely-eyed and confident, albeit in an ill-fitting wetsuit:
She’s even featured in a video steamrolling a hapless hound with her longboard during a 2011 competition in Imperial Beach, Calif. Her victim recovered and dog-paddled to safety. Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA is perfect for dog surfing because its smaller waves match the shorter stature of dogs in relation to humans. Dogs, it turns out, aren't crazy big wave guys, instead preferring to bite off the amount of wave equal to their ability to chew. They're sensible!
