Some clues for this not-so-easy puzzle. {Clues }C.P. is the signature of a 19th-century painter. The houses in the inset, top left, are a slightly changed version of the ones C.P. painted in his day. The work is not among his best known and is not often mentioned; the name of the town is part of the painting's title. You can guess the country, I suppose. Good luck!

I searched for this for quite a while over the last few days. I finally found it while trying to find a good clue to my puzzle of a street corner painting based on this puzzle.

I'm still going in circles to find this location. I did find the location of the painting on the street below, but I've searched hard in the town with the name in the painting to find the two people, but alas, I'm coming up empty so far.

Well done all! { Answer}Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) was a French impressionist painter. The painting referred to in the puzzle is named Place à La Roche-Guyon, c.1867. It's a small village on the river Seine, west of Paris. 49.0815°N, 1.6308°E
