Latchmere House served during WW1 as an rehabilitation centre for 'shell-shocked' soldiers; during WW2 it housed enemy agents apprehended by MI 5. It was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Robin "Tin Eye" Stephens. Accusations have been made regarding mis-treatment of prisoners but Stephens denied all accusations and nothing was proved. Post-war, the adjoining buildings served as one of HM Prisons but has now been converted to a housing estate. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_020Latchmere House Camp 020..kmz (1011 B)
