Last puzzle of mine for the day. This building was once a noisy hangout for many of the who's who in the art world at the time.
However, a heated disagreement between two of the longtime friends resulted in a hand/glove slap challenge.
A weapon armed showdown later resulted, but without a fatality and the men once again became friends.
Find this building that is now repurposed from the hangout to a modern shop. Street View please.

If I'm not mistaken, and from what I've found, this is not the hangout of the artists, but the workshop of one of them. The hangout is further down to the left, a big shop now.

{Spoiler} According to "Art Then and Now" Number 11 was the only address of this place though it may have taken up more space.

{Spoiler} According to "Art Then and Now" Number 11 was the only address of this place though it may have taken up more space. The address was 9-11 according to the wiki article, and a couple of other websites. The place in this puzzle is a shop that sells paints to artists and was already there at the time and actually sold paint to the artist in the puzzle. That shop is bound to disappear soon apparently. Number 11 can be seen in SV a couple of shops left to this shop. The "hangout" was at what is now 9-11, further left, nearer to the beginning of the street, as old photos show. I've also seen a couple of pages that show this shop as being the former place, but I think they were fooled by the palette sign on it.

JohnLuke .... I would agree that Number 11 building architecture seems to include the two small shops to the left, but they are both listed as number 11 on Google street view. However, the website I used as the location said that the hangout was expanded beyond the current address modern shop, but did not specify number 9. Either way, without argument, you located the place I was looking for with the artist paint motif. I will post the link to the site I used when I post the answer and you are welcome to post yours, my friend. ... dagger66

JohnLuke .... to your credit, I did see an Art History site that said #11 was a Paint Shop and further to the left, where I will not name the shop because it would give the answer, was the cafe. I am learning a lesson that historical sites will give some conflicting information and addresses and place names will alter. .... dagger66

ANSWER
{Spoiler} Café Guerbois, on Avenue de Clichy in Paris, was the site of late 19th-century discussions and planning amongst artists, writers and art lovers. On one evening in February 1870, things became so heated that Édouard Manet, insulted by a review that Duranty wrote, wounded Duranty in a duel. The injury was not fatal, and the two remained friends. Now the cafe is gone, but various sites list it as either 9 or 11 Avenue de Clichy. The buildings are contiguous and the cafe was said to be small and noisy, but later expanded so maybe it expanded to both addresses or their is a loss in historical location exactness.

One thing is certain though: the paint shop and the café are two different places. There's no doubt in my mind about that, based on the French wiki article and webpages like this one. This photo shows where everything was located, and the paintshop is still here amazingly. It's the op image.
