Also I think a good idea to "reload" old GE stuffz (also layered ones) in the interest of updated, public kmz files, available for download. - Thanks for the good work on this! ( ; --- Here I link my post about some upcoming events from the Eastern front in 1943.: Requiem for an Army (The tragedy of the 2. Hungarian Army at Don-Bend, Voronezh front - WWII., 1943. I.-II. * Operation Saturn, and disaster)

I checked with Frank about re-loading old posts with new information. He approves as long as original posters are cited. This should be no problem/

hedgehog .. clearly means "tanktrap" . in this case, giant larger than life tank trap, something of a sculpture monument.
Its all downhill from that place to the centre of Moscow. Elevations drop from 190 metres to 130 metres, but its all continuously downhill. No rise inbetween... so its not as clear as looking across a valley. But with the bell tower at 81 metres above ground, its seems to be right that you can see it and identify it from that site, 22km away.
At the coast here, I could see buildings 35 km distant,, with their rectangular shapes with naked eye just a bit vague to be sure, and confirm shape and colour sequence as being the beach apartments at the city CBD with binoculars.

Thanks for the information. Dr. Felton could not see the towers but much has changed over the years. Hedgehog is a British term for a small animal covered with sharp quills. To we North Americans they are like small porcupines!

For sure. The term "hedgehog" has also been used for the multiple spigot mortars used as shipboard anti-submarine mortars:
