At the end of WW2 there was a wide-spread program to clear German ordnance from recently liberated Danmark. In Hanstholm a house at this location had been filled with over 10 tonnes of lifted anti-tank mines. On the morning of 26 September, 1945 these mines detonated. Two personnel from the Dansk Navy were killed and a great deal of surrounding damage ensued. The crater marks the location of the house (Old Lines Haus).
Ordnance clearing continues in Danmark. Recently an engineer friend of mine supervised the clearing of mine debris from a Danish beach. The public can now use the beach.
