This Fuhrerhauptquartier, used by Hitler only three times, was the most easterly Wermacht headquarters of WW2. It was constructed by Soviet POW's acting as slave labour between December 1942 and June 1942. (It had a swimming pool, never used by Hitler). It existed from 1942 to 1943 before being destroyed by the retreating German forces. A daily three hour flight from Lufthavn Kalinovka (20 km due north) connected it to Berlin. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werwolf_(Wehrmacht_headquarters) Werwolf- Nazi Germanys most easterly H.Q..kmz (1.31 KB)

Thanks interesting historical spot again Larry! All the place is covered in photos on GE (Layers/Photos). What monstrous ruins! Those "pieces" of concrete are bigger than a smaller flat or house... Also the site seems to be place of pilgrimage for neonazis (skinheads): No GEC Layer content on GE, so this one stands also as a new contribution on GEC boards! Regards: G
