Oddity spotted near McNab, Arkansas

I was following a railroad from my birthplace and ran into this. It's just ESE of McNab, Arkansas. The railroad is visible south of the odd area.
Zooming in reveals a few tiny structures. I guess I'm hoping against hope that someone from the area might eventually see this and be 
able to shed some light.

The area you have highlighted seems to be an airstrip, probably for crop duster.

While looking in the area, I spotted an inspection truck / work truck for the rail company goo.gl/maps/b7hzhyWEM2k7eTZS9
Unfortunately I am unable to find any registered  grass airfields in Hempstead County, Arkansas .

Edit: as far as I am able to tell, there are only 3 FAA registered airfields in Hempstead County ... none of them by McNab. 
On the site to the west, there are visible towers. Looking at historic imagery, there is a similar tower in the eastern site, located on the north-west corner .
 
I am unable to locate any information as to what these sites are used for ( not even signs on the main road ). At one point in time, the eastern site was completely mowed down, but that is the only interesting tidbit I can dig up.  

That parcel of land appears to be different title to the larger block around Bottoms Rd and up to Grassy Lake.  

The larger area of forest west of McNab is the domain of Hunting Clubs.

Perhaps the clearing of land is only for delineation ,safety, from the hunting club ? The boxes at corner may be for security...  


The other common activity around McNab is horse riding .

So in the middle of the cleared cross , there is a water supply, with the grass around it  killed by animals constantly trampling it,
and vehicles drive up to it quite often. 

So I  imagine its a  horse paddock, with open areas for safety and for the horses to run on. Or learn to ride tracks.
