The Mars layer was released in March 12, 2009. Unlike the Moon, Google did update Mars a few times with some new features including a near-global CTX image layer providing high resolution imagery to much of the planet. Some landing sites were also updated up to 2018. Since 2018, a few new landers have appeared on Mars and the Curiosity rover has continued it's trek on the red planet. Locations and detailed imagery are included with those. Here are 33 extra overlays of it's physical and mineralogical properties. Included is an updated set of IAU approved placenames as since 2017, hundreds of places have received placenames. Finally, there are a few surprises for Sci-Fi fans in this. Added InSight lander as well as the rediscovered Mars 3 and Schiaparelli landers. Daytime Thermal Inertia Map Free Air Gravity Anomaly
Mars.kmz (913.84 KB) Note: I will have to update this next year when the Mars 2020 Lander and Perseverance Rover lands this winter (Oh, and the exploration drone).
