This series of 14 maps covers the history of the first hours of the Battle of Gettysburg, from the evening of June 30, 1863 until 11 AM on July 1. Almost nobody wanted to fight a major battle at Gettysburg; nonetheless, one of the most significant battles in American history was fought there, in large part because of the small battle that was fought on the morning of July 1. The maps show not only the positions of the troops, but also what the various commanders might have seen, known, thought, and planned during any part of the battle. The map series takes advantage of some of the unique properties of Google Earth, such as viewsheds and perspective views. It starts on the “Map Navigation and Symbols Page”, which explains how to navigate the history. The history was developed on an iMac desktop computer (MacOS Catalina 10.15.3) and using Google Earth Pro v. 7.3.2.5776 (64-bit). It has been tested on a MacBook Pro laptop and will be tested on a PC platform. A separate version is being developed for iPhone.

Lucky circumstance that I have shared my kmz file about Don-breakthrough (WWII) long before this brilliant presentation; else one should think, I have not read last row about copyrights in "users-manual" of your kmz. (; Fine details and easy review... until whole main folder (accidentally) not checked. (: In my above linked presentation I used the "radio button selection" option for time/date subfolders to avoid such "placemark-floodings". (However it is written on hungarian language, you can have a look at what I mean.) Thank you sharing useful piece of work! Once more: Welcome around! g
