I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, but I can't find it! In Earth Pro the Latitude/Longitude coordinates for the summit of Ben Nevis are N 56 47 48.92 W 5 00 13.06. In Google maps they are N 56 79 72.08 W 5 00 38.94. As you can see, there is quite a difference in Latitude. Could someone explain this to me? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, boggyboots65 !
At or me the following coordinates for reference point Ben Nevis Weather Station
GE: 56.796643 -5.003440 Google Maps: 56.796644 -5.003442 The smallest inaccuracies arise from manual selection of the placemark, resulting in deviations in the centimeter range.

Hi, thanks so much for your reply. Now I'm really confused. Here is a screen shot of my Google Earth screen. I put the cursor on the point of the summit at the head of the Mountain Path. I'm not sure if you can see the image I have attached, it looks very small for some reason, but the latitude is 56 47 48.12. 47 minutes is quite a long way from the 79 minutes you have. The question is though, why is Earth showing me 47 and you 79?!

The same coordinates as yours. Once in degrees / minutes / seconds and once in decimal degrees. Switchable in GE under Tools / Options.
