This mansion, built in 1653, became an Abwehr Spy training schule (A-Schule West) in Autumn, 1942. It was visited by both Otto Skorzeny and Heinricih Himmler. Two of its graduates were Erich Gimpel and William Colepaugh, who were inserted into America as part of Operation 'Magpie' ('Elster').
The park itself is interesting; not only were spies trained here but it also served as a launch site for V-2 weapons. The mansion now serves as the residence of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
