Picking up the pieces from "Train Turntables around the world", by nikt [although I never even saw their collection, since it's lost due to old GEC shutting down]: In rail terminology, a railway turntable is a device for turning railway rolling stock, usually locomotives, so that they can be moved back in the direction from which they came. This is a collection of railway turntables that are visible via Google Earth, color-coded for whether or not it is still visible (green), or only visible via historical imagery (red). The collection only includes turntables in which the turntable bridge (the part of the turntable that includes the tracks and that swivels to turn the equipment) is visible. The listed date of each historical turntable (red icons) is the latest date the turntable (with bridge) was visible. However, the saved view might be a different date, if a better image is available before that date.
Currently contains: 1549 Currently Visible turntables 292 Historically Visible turntables
75 Countries, 47 U.S. States + Washington D.C. (missing: Delaware, Rhode Island, South Carolina)

Awesome - thanks for sharing!
There's so many of these in Germany, it's crazy!
I'll start an update schedule for this - and will probably add all new finds every two months or so.
