G'day all and sundry.
I know updates from All Aircraft In Flight (AAIF) curated by Norm have been absent from the GEC since 30th March 2016 and Norm himself has been absent since 13 Jun 2017. I do miss my o'l kiwi mate from across the ditch and hope the many earthquakes and the loss of Ernie have had minimal impact upon him and his family.
The point is that the second most popular thread (next to F&G) in the GEC is languishing about without being updated and therefore not attracting new post's and new member's. The same goes for "Where In The World" that was trashed by Google when they trashed the oGEC, tried to make their own WITW (on the now defunct G+ and Twitter but failed dismally) without understanding their customer base but that's a different issue.
If someone was to do this they would have to sacrifice some time to update the thread regularly as there will be many, many contribution's. It may have to (and may be better to) start from scratch as most images of Norm's file would be way out of date and considered historic data. We must move on and try to lift the AAIF thread back to the same lofty height's as the oGEC in it's heyday by producing another AAIF and WITW that are worthy of this forum as the copycats have made a hash of taking WITW anywhere.
What are your thought's for re-doing AAIF and maybe even the WITW thread to help re-invigorate the nGEC?.
Richard.

Both were well used and well loved threads. Even I managed to find an AIF!
Building and maintaining either of the threads from scratch is probably the best plan - considering, as you say, originals will all be deemed historic. The time needed is the biggy, but it's a brilliant idea and I'm sure someone will take it on if you don't want to or don't have the time.

It's up to date now ( see new file here), but no new contributors, besides willi1 and myself. Come back please!
