This is the site of Ted Turner's Fawn Lake Ranch where he raises cattle and bison. If you search not too far from the placemark you will find many more bison-colored animals as well as black and white ( Black Baldy) cattle. Fawn Lake Ranch covers 63,792 acres and is situated in the middle of the sandhills of Nebraska. The Turner bison herd across 14 ranches is approximately 51,000 bison, which is the largest private herd in the world. That's a lot of bison! While looking up something about bison, I came across this very cool thing: Animation by Waugsberg in 2006, from these photos by Eedweard Muybridge, first published 1887. Both images are Public Domain, Wikimedia Commons.
