While I was searching (in vain) for an SV or blue dot image of a sculpture of the famous blind writer, sitting on a bench, resting his right hand on his walking stick, I did get a peek at this sculpture, somewhere at the back of the library:
It took some more searching to find out who he was. If only I had been able to blow up the photo large enough to recognize him!
Post the above SV image please (there is no other).

There is another or the other? guy there Ah ... that may well be him. I think I dismissed it too easily, having the complete sculpture in my mind. It’s in the same little park, so who else could it be?

(...) Other sculpture found by krenek . I feel that these are not of the blind writer; The man on the left (with his arms on the sofa) is the writer in the days when his bad eyesight hadn’t deteriorated into blindness yet.
The sculpture to the right of Julio C. in the garden ....
... may indeed not the one I was looking for. It looks more like a bust, no limbs visible.

(...) Other sculpture found by krenek . I feel that these are not of the blind writer; The man on the left (with his arms on the sofa) is the writer in the days when his bad eyesight hadn’t deteriorated into blindness yet. My information was based on following image; Above is captioned as "Estatua de Alberto Olmedo y Javier Portales" - Source: ruta0.com/buenos-aires
The Map link in the above Source took me to intersection of "Avenida Corrientes" and "Uruguay" Ave. where the GSV posted by krenek was found by me. A search for "Estatua de Alberto Olmedo y Javier Portales" in Google Maps also took me to same location. ( GSV Link). Also see the following snapshot of Google Maps with one of the reviews; Another image (see below) from Google Maps is also captioned as "Estatua de Alberto Olmedo y Javier Portales" Another image from same location in Google Maps; Now the confusion - A look at two images shows a subtle difference in the pattern/colour of the ties. Links to two images sent through PM by Krenek also have this subtle difference. It is not clear whether the image posted by Krenek is of the "Blind writer and Alvarez" or of "Alberto Olmedo & Javier Portales". I may be wrong but there is definitely some confusion.

I may be wrong but there is definitely some confusion. i agree i was not totally satisfied with the 2nd JLB statue, but the statue was nice imho to be deepened, the what and the why!... EDIT:ok, the second statue shows comedians Alberto Olmedo & Javier Portales playing television characters Álvarez y B***! this B*** has nothing to do with JLB, my error! thanks CJM!

Well done Utapao!
In posting this puzzle I have caused a lot of confusion, not least in myself. CuriousJM is of course right about the men on the sofa. I should have checked instead of copying a popular misunderstanding. The combined effort in F&G was strong enough to reach the maximum result!
Meanwhile, the puzzle is still open.

No more confusion, I promise. Pictures of the sculpture you were asked to find, and the one I tried in vain to find (followed by the answer): Julio Cortázar and Jorge Luis Borges. Both sculptures are located next to the Biblioteca Nacional Mariano Moreno in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cortázar’s best known work is probably his short story ‘Blow-Up’, in which a London photographer suspects he has unwittingly photographed a murder. He blows up the photo to absurd proportions in an attempt to confirm his hunch. The story inspired director Antonioni to make the enjoyable 60s film Blowup. Google Maps SV image of Cortázar’s sculpture.
Google Maps SV image of Borges’ sculpture.
