Hi people, New on here and have been messing around on the google earth app and noticed something that looks like a crash site under the ocean. The co-ordinates are:- 38°30'25"N 146°39'31"E 110km As you can see it looks like a long trail which stops into an unusual shape at the end. I don't think its a mountain as it seems to have a X shape on top. Any thoughts? Toby

Hi tagrant25 and welcome to the Forum!
Your fund is an underwater mountain, probably a volcanic cone. At this ends the track of an echosounder vessel. More about this topic see here.

Im sorry but i have to disagree about the echosounder vessel. I had a look at how they work and can't see how it would leave a trail as the ship wouldnt touch the floor. The "mountain" looks out of place with the others. I suppose unless someone atchually goes there then we will never know.

If it actually were a ufo crash site, the NSA(national security agency) would have surely blurred it out.

The trail does not actually exist. Its just a drawing .. perhaps google leave the edge in place so you can see where the boundary between the less reliable data and the sonar trace. However in this case the sonar data shows smooth surfaces below, but that seems wrong, perhaps because its too deep for it to measure. Its perhaps data error to show this trace , rather than the other data they have, as this trace shows some sea mounts cut in half as if there is a steep cliff at the cutoff.
