The Solution:
The Puglia was a protected cruiser of the Italian Regia Marina (Royal Navy), built 1893-98. The ship was sold for scrapping in March 1923. During the demolition of the ship, the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini donated the ship's bow section to the writer and passionate nationalist Gabriele D'Annunzio, who built him as part of the "Vittoriale degli Italiani Museum" in Gardone Riviera. (Amazing to see the museum in SV!). 45°37'31.12" N 10°33'59.41" O
