The Würzburg Riese (FuMG 65) is a radar device from Telefunken and served during the air war in World War II Germany to locate enemy aircraft. The range was up to 250 km. Approximately 1500 of these stationary or railway car mounted devices were manufactured between 1940 and 1945. After the war, they were improved and reused by the Allies, later several states use these facilities as radio telescopes. One of these devices was in use by 2009 at Humain (Belgium) as an observatory and is now, restored and on an original flat wagon, at the Atlantic Wall Museum Raversyde at Oostende. And it is still operational.
