LR3 is a deep-sea survey and repair submersible built by Slingsby Engineering for the offshore gas and oil industry, but also operated by NATO as a submarine rescue unit. With a crew of 3 people and a mission duration of 10 hours, it could be used up to a working depth of 1,500 feet. Later it was replaced by the improved model LR5.
LR3 can be seen in Gosport, UK.
