Lake Mulwala is on the River Murray between the states of Victoria and New South Wales in Australia. The lake is being drained by the river authorities to control the growth of aquatic weeds through exposing the weed to winter frosts. The lake is proposed to be drained until the end of June 2018, when filling will recommence. This draining event also occurred in June of 2009, and Google Earth was able to capture a satellite image of the drained lake. I am unsure of how to proceed but it would be fantastic to be able to view in Google Earth, the lake empty in 2018 resulting from this draw down event. Any advice on how to proceed will be greatly appreciated Graham66

hi and welcome graham! thanks for info on interesting happenings around there! strange coincidence, another "reservoir-draining" action I have posted recently here on forum. these are stimulating my fantasy so much - very interesting to see things on the surface that were submerged for longer periods of time: in my case a complete settlement comes up to sunlight, in yours dead trees of the original floodplain forest returns to surface: by the 2009 draining one can see how landscape re-transforms into its meandering river characteristics: now only we have to wait for a GE imagery update of the area to check how things have changed in the last 8-9 years beneath the shining watertable of Mulwala Lake. best! g

Hi Graham66,
Tatanga Mani, in: Wisdom of the Indians - From life in harmony with nature
"Much is foolish about your civilization. Like crazy, you - the white people are running after the money, until you have so much that you can not live long enough, to spend it. You plunder the forests, the soil, you are wasting the natural fuels, as if there were no generation after you, which also needs all this. All the time you are talking about a better world, while you build bigger and bigger bombs, around the world you have now, to destroy.''
Every herb does its job and there is no weed...Meanwhile I see everything more critically. We are lied too often. What is the true purpose? I hope we will see it soon. Such pictures make me thoughtful and sad,
Pitter
