Need a clue? Shelley’s poem Ozymandias, first published in 1818, begins like this: “I met a traveller from an antique land / Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone / Stand in the desert...” I wondered if any modern sculptors had used this powerful image as an inspiration, and I found this work, which seems to attract all kinds of painters.
