This vintage van/truck is in Annfield Plain, County Durham, UK. I searched, but wasn't able to identify the emblem. The van has the big, chunky look of an American car, something like an early '60s General Motors product. How the owner got it in there is a puzzle, but how he'll get it out, even more so. Any ideas what this is? Mystery van Annfield Plain UK.kmz (789 B)

... Any ideas what this is? I have none, but nice one! and if it were not enough, check and ID other beautiful piece of the collector guy on GMaps historical imagery StreetView, at the same address you found! O: guy seems to be some Jack-of-all-trades, so do not worry about he can get also the old pick-up out somehow! I’m no car expert, but I did some searching. The van/truck may belong to the rather varied Dodge D-100 type. It shares many properties with the D-100s I found on the Web. The emblem may be of the DeSoto brand. Both Dodge and DeSoto were Chrysler divisions, and besides the Dodge D-100s there were also DeSoto D-100s, like the Finnish police car below.

Wow, he has obviously done crazy car-fitting before! He's a professional. I can see that he moved the shed and other things around to get the van in. Thank you for that, syzygy, that's a great discovery! It looks like an early 1930s Ford to me, but that's just with an American's eyes. The front seems elongated rather than original. Thanks for the link... _______________ you might also like these (solved ones), brought up by ETxp.

Bridgeplayer & syzygy - I found it! After another couple of hours using clues from both of you, I ruled out my GMC and Bridge's DeSoto (yes, similar looking logo)...it's a 1959 Ford F100 panel van! Syzygy wins the prize, Ford it is! After squinting at the SV image for awhile, I could also see the emblems on the hood and fender better. WebsiteAfter a few years of trying to ID old cars - which often are missing most of their chrome jewelry - I've noticed that auto manufacturers change designs of the trim and logos very frequently. There is no mistaking who made this one in Lexington, South Carolina, USA...
