Here is the beginning of a collection of interesting historical images. I would like to hear from members who have additions or suggestions. My thanks to NormB for his help in setting this collection up. j_anonymous has added a number of these images, especially those from Germany and Poland. New additions including well-known V-1 and V-2 incidents in war-time London. Please note - as the collection is in both Europe and North America, the file opens above Africa. Go to each place mark and set the time slider as early as possible.. _________________________ 'Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat their mistakes.' - George Santayana 'You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.' - Leon Tolstoy (?)

Good collection, LarryC1. I haven't been through the whole thing yet, but in time. But I remember discussions about the San Francisco pier with 3 warships tied up, and after some chin-scratching and head-scratching and measuring we came to the conclusion the ships were light cruisers. You can find the discussions HERE and HERE. Also RE: Oldest imagery. They may come from the University of Waterloo Library. Google only got a few of the available imagery collection from the 1930's

You have a good memory, Hill! Thank you for the lead on the aerial photos. I live in the area of some of this coverage so it will be very interesting to see the old shots of my stomping grounds. Larry
