We are fortunate that the Niagara Peninsula underwent aerial photography in 1934. This allows us to see the evolution of the canal over the last two centuries. It shiould be noted that the photos (1934?) show no evidence of one section of the canal which was presumably finished in 1932. This may mean that the pictures pre-date the canal's completion. St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre at Lock 3 provided a brochure from which this information ws taken.
