Hi everyone Whilst browsing Google Earth I stumbled across a strange set of structures at the following coordinates just south of Lake Austin: The attached file shows what the structures look like on Google Earth.
Here are the coordinates latitude: 27°43'14.47"S Longitude: 117°49'25.38"E This is more than just one or two structures but is the size of a small town. Noticeably also there are straight lines of trees nearby. Anyone have any idea of what was or is here? cheers Peter

This is the remnants of a mineral exploration site.
You can see the access road to the north that hooks up the The Great Northern highway.
Geologists, Fieldhands, and drilling crews would have set up temporary camps here when they cleared access tracks and grids to drill exploration holes.
The white patches are drill pads and samples.
Looks like this one was done before the new rules that prevent mass destruction of the native vegetation.
