This bridge in Durham, North Carolina, has a clearance of 11' 8", which seems to be a few inches shorter than a lot of delivery trucks. That is the source of destruction for quite a few, many of them rentals by truck driving amateurs. The bridge is really called the Gregson St. Trestle, but it's also known as the 11foot8 and the Canopener. I can't imagine why Penske, Enterprise, et al., don't warn all of their renters about this bridge! See the 11foot8 website for a lot of entertaining videos, parts of which are done "for science," according to the author. The Canopener Bridge NC.kmz (757 B)

How huge the zoo of God! Nice one D! Greenhorn on this panoramio shot by yovo68 has scalped a rental truck too: And survival of Google StreetView car sphere-cam depended only on inches...(: Thanks for post, was good to see you around! Best! g

Haha! Thanks for uploading that Pano photo! I think the people who live and do business in the area have grown accustomed to the BOOM-CRUNCH sounds. Maybe they still look out the window...maybe not. Off topic: A couple of days ago the Panoramios were wiped off the face of the earth. I discovered it when I clicked on one in Japan to see something. It gave me a sick feeling.

Hahaha...You Tube - and the film's worth seeing it. Drivers run into trouble and Roman holidays for us. Cheers, Pitter
