Tail of a Shooting Star.kmz (811 B) at first glance it resembles to a comet tail, but we know comets appearing and growing coma and tail only in interplanetary scenes and dimensions, so the first thought is that this must be a trail of a meteor, that just have been evaporating in the atmosphere. I would be very happy to be the first around here who spots such phenomenon in imagery database, but one question still remains: could this be just a lonely cirrus filament? share this here as find it odd anyhow...

If only that old image strip wasn't there, it might help. I'm no scientist, but it looks more like there was an 'object with a mission,' such as a meteor or comet. That is just the visual impression it gives me.

Aww, what a disappointment! I really liked the idea of seeing a meteor on GE!
