In the days prior to Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee celebration, I was thinking about the other famous royal progression, and about Handel's Water Music which made it famous. I thought it might be fun to use it to make a sound tour of the 2012 route, so I posted a request that one of the GEC members from the UK might inform me of the beginning and end points. TomKjeldsen responded with the locations, and he also posted a couple of paths for playing tours of the route. He beat me to the tour project, I guess, but as I had already purchased the public domain music file, I went ahead and completed the project.
The arrangement by Sir Hamilton Harty is rather long, but I find that there are plenty of interesting things to see as the crown moves down the river. This is even move true now that the entire route is now displayed in 3D Buildings imagery. On a rainy day (as February 6 was), you can replace the crown with the umbrella, or just add it..Download FilePost last revised March 15, 2023.
