The Women's Institutes were founded in 1897. Their aim was to educate rural women in home-making and child care. Kemble was the first branch in Grey County after the founding of the charter branch in Stoney Creek, ON. The marker is at a memorial look-out over Georgian Bay and consists a stone table complete with a bronze tea set and chair.. (See photos).
