Thanks a lot Krenek and Alchemist Long time ago, in a bbs far away in time, I used to play, but I got lost in transition (but not translation) when the forum moved to this home. Hope you find time to visit the bones and beyond, it is totally worth the trip, a bit dry indeed, but not lacking life. Cheers

Thanks Utapao and ET_Explorer 2 forums ago!!!! Wow, then I have been really disconnected. Tried to post in the "new" forum but Google didn't recognize me at all and all my posts were lost, got a bit frustrated and had tons of work, so l let it go for a while, but finding a puzzle by Jamal brought me back and this time the forum did allow me in Well found, I think I need to put a harder puzzle for you all seasoned sailors, but meanwhile, here is a SV of the bones

I am happy that I was able to lead you back to the newer (but unofficial) version of old GEC. For me the skeletal bones are still elusive. I am at awe of all those who found it without a clue!

You are a "bad" influence Jamal, I still do not know how they have found the bones, even if I Google the appropiate words, and even including names of the area, my results do not show the place. Interesting. Question for the finders: How many search attempts it took you to locate the town? and then, how long it took to locate the intersection?

Interesting. Question for the finders: How many search attempts it took you to locate the town? and then, how long it took to locate the intersection? jesusmx - Back in March we had two puzzles involving similar 'bones' -- a 5-part puzzle which included the location in your post, and another post of bones stored in a warehouse. I'm quite embarrassed to admit that I spent about a half hour on your puzzle searching for two things that I thought would have bones this large....your subject matter and dinosaurs. To no avail! I then used the logic mentioned recently by one of the members about looking for things near a person's home territory. Based on 'mx' in your profile name I thought I'd limit my search to Mexico. After finding many different examples, I suddenly remembered the previous puzzle and its title was in Spanish! After searching a few minutes using Spanish terms, it hit me I had found it three months ago and had it marked in GE! In the previous 5-part puzzle, four of the five were fairly easy for me, but the fifth one...this one...was the most difficult. If I remember correctly, there was a blog of someone's travels in Baja and this set of bones was mentioned as they passed from one town to another. But even though that narrowed the search, it was still a little tricky to find. I'd love to say I saw your post and did a simple search and found it. But I'm not that good!

Jesusmx has a message waiting from me explaining the same thing. This would have been a very difficult puzzle otherwise!

Thanks Utapao and Alchemist for the interesting tactics you used, even if it was a previous puzzle, finding it then is not an easy feat.
Hope that somebody else find the spot, it is located more than 40 kilometers on either direction from where the bones should have rested in a natural place with no human intervention.
BTW, the intersection looks like the the part not included with the bones, I was wondering when I stopped there to take some pics, if the skeleton had been vandalized, but no, there are no bones in that part, just cartilage, interesting

good catch hhgygy Yep, the bones do not really resemble the animal we are looking for, without the flesh and cartilage is very difficult to get a visual.
When I stopped the car to check the bones, I noticed (on the second visit) that there was something really speciall missing, so I concluded somebody has vandalized the skeleton, but fortunately I was wrong.

Another spoiler, as I know this is a difficult one The bones are dry as the nearest body of decent salt water is more than 40km from this intersection in both directions

I am glad you enjoyed the visit to the desert in search of the bones of a fascinating mammal that comes to the "warm" waters of the area to mate and give birth to new calves.
A video by yours truly
This bones are located in the highway that crosses the town of San Ignacio, BCS, México, very far from the ocean, very far from big airports, traveling there is truly an adventure, but full of interesting facts, gorgeous views, and not as devoted of life as one assumes when mentioning "desert"
Some blogs mention the town and have pics of the bones display, a very tortuous way to find the location.
