35°16'6.58"N 32°56'11.55"E Strange pool of green liquid in northern Cyprus, most likely this liquid is water being so close to the sea however the tide in Cyprus does not come in this far so it also may not be, the water contains strange discoloration which could be caused by many factors such as animal/bacterial life, sulphur pits from volcanic activity or many other possible factors Note: liquid also seems to be a the bottom of a runoff from a field adding the possibility of farming chemicals Green Liquid Pool - North Cyprus.kmz (729 B)

Yea but thats quite rare in cyprus as the beaches are mostly volcanic rock with not much life Further research shows that its part of a intermittent creek called "Ciftlik Deresi" that drains into the ocean. Ciftlik Deresi.kmz (5.56 KB) Google Maps

dunno whaz exactly goin on down here at 35°11'59.83"N, 32°54'49.73"E , but you can see every shade of green in those pools. think all we can see are examples of different stages of Eutrophication, can be caused both by natural or industrial processes.

Good spot syzygy, it look possibly like a salt farm of some sort, these are popular in hot countries like Cyprus and Lanzarote and they tend to have bright or vibrant colours, any thoughts?
And thank you ET_Explorer for your notes i will trace it up and see if i can find anywhere it may drain from
UPDATE: I followed it up along the line of dense trees and found it leads to some kind of dam/lake i will see if i can find any major sources
UPDATE 2: on following the source of the river the only possible place i see it coming from is the nearby town/city and the green colour probably comes from some kind of filtration/chemical cleansing process or a sewage outflow

I have edited a bit post title and here we go from Bulgaria: toxic.kmz (863 B) pool without drainage, with disgusting orange layer on its water surface. dunno, whether it can be connected to this pool, but a quick search on the town Radnevo resulted this: source: wikipedia/Radnevoalso you can find photo reference for Maritsa Iztok-3, SE to placemark.
