In June 2013 I moved back to California after living in Arizona for 6 years. While packing up and preparing for the trip back I realized there was one thing I absolutely needed for the trip. I had about 30 hours of hand-picked songs loaded on my cell phone, but I had to start my trip with a John Mayall song. I added the following song to my playlist.

I have bluetooth (wireless) stereo headphones with excellent sound quality for my cell phone. I can make and receive calls with them too.

So.... I left at 3 am. (I was moving from the Sonoran Desert to the Mojave Desert in late June... figured I'd get a few hours drive time without the blistering Sun.) With all my worldly possessions packed into a U-Haul truck, I got on the highway and hit the play button... I was Goin' Back To California.

That's a gorgeous one, Gregg, I'd forgotten how much I like John Mayall.  I want to go back to California!

Unlike you, Gregg & Diane, I still remain to even have been in California in real, actually hope to plan trip in a not distant future.
Still I think I may have been there, kind of remote, during music (and later Google Earth :-) over the last 30-40 years.

Yes, Tom. Yes. Hell Freezes Over is the ultimate rendition of this song. It's... it's... well, it's perfect! The guitar work in the intro and the outtro... perfect. Everything in between too.

They were never going to get back together. When asked when they would re-unite and go on tour they said "when Hell freezes over". I am so glad Hell froze over.

I was reminded recently of Dos Gringos while we were chatting up some Predator and naval pilots in Vegas. I couldn't get these two tunes out of my head, and was laughing my a** off during the exercises while wondering if they were aware of of these gems. Well, now all of you are aware of them, but consider yourself warned - the language is harsh. So if you have your big boy pants on, please enjoy.

I always did like Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters (formerly of Nirvana), but he did this today at a concert in Sweden...fell of the stage during the second song, broke his leg, promised the crowd he would be back after a trip to the hospital.  He kept his word...

  That's a pro!


Then, of course, I spent more time on YT than I intended and came across this recent upload. Delightful and enlightening! (Warning: two F-words. Not bad for three minutes of drummers talking.  )

For some reason, TheLedge's Paloma Faith clip suddenly today brought to mind the incomparable Bonnie Raitt. the Red Hair maybe!

That was quite an experience, PIT!  I think I've had my big boy pants on too long to notice much rough language in either one. The visuals on the first one were a little hard to grasp while listening to the lyrics (walking + chewing gum...).  The second one was pretty funny, even though I didn't quite understand why they hate drones. I mean, UAVs.

Well, this thread is awfully entertaining, huh?

Emma Donovan is part of an Indigenous Australian musical dynasty growing up in an extremely talented and musical family. Singing genres that include R&B, Soul, Country and reggae she has a hauntingly beautiful voice which I'm only just now discovering.
This clip recorded for the ABC radio station Double J at the Golden Age Cinema And Bar in Surry Hills, Sydney has got me hooked and will be at the gig that she and her band The Putbacks will be playing in Collingwood, Melbourne next weekend. Cant wait.


Here she is as part of The Black Arm Band performing Dirtsong at the 2013 Art Music Awards. It is long at 14 minutes but worth every second.

First I saw, well 1.20 minute of "Hyperspace [Morning Psytrance Mix 2013]" no problem, lets hear the thing - then I came to see that it is 1 hour and 20 minutes!! - This one I have to split up and take in pieces of max. 5 minute
