Is it possible to get the day and time for Google Earth imagery, both current and historical. I am looking at tide levels in old photos and if I could know the day and time a photo was taken - I could use that to estimate the tide elevation at that time. I know there are many photos stitched together but for any location, is the day and time knowable?

No sorry that is not possible. You may get a more precise answer by asking at the Google Earth Help Forum (link in top banner)

Depending on the image in question, you actually can get the date. At the bottom-center of the screen it has the "Imagery Date" (next to where the coordinates and elevation figures are). As for the time, that can be difficult. There are ways to calculate it using time of year, length of shadows etc., but no direct way from Google Earth.
