The sculpture shows a man practicing the technique that he invented many centuries ago. Many Dutch people, including myself, are still grateful for his invention, but I suppose most nations in the world couldn’t care less (they don’t know what they’re missing ). SV image please.

Well done Noisette! I can’t say I’d miss the invention itself, but I would surely miss the delicacy that was made possible by it. Time for a clue: The invention is a technique which is called, in Dutch, haring kaken (or haringkaken). Good luck!
