Hi folks. I'm new to this forum. and totally in the dark about lots of stuff. I've been a google earth enthusiast and user for about 8 years now, and I was just wondering if anyone could answer this question: When Panoramio is consigned to the trashcan in 10 days, will all the photos I took via it, and placed very precisely, into google earth suddenly disappear too? Or will they magically be transported to the google earth servers, to continue their existence there, and still appear on our good old globe? Cheers.

Hi waterfallman, Have you read THIS THREAD (particularly the replies by Noisette) in the Google Earth / Maps Help Forum? Speaking as a non-contributor, I'd like to say thank you to you and all the others who have contributed to the Photo Layer. It has certainly made my GE experience much richer.

You're welcome, washi. I've been a heavy contributor to Panoramio. I'm already seeing that quite a few photos won't open on GE. Personally, I wouldn't count on any Panoramio images remaining on GE or even Maps beyond next year, except for ones showing real estate offices, restaurants, hotels and other commercial and touristy points of interest.
