A puzzle for everyone including the OP

Google search gurus, can anyone find the location of this? I tried in vain.
(But at least I learned a new word: bleachers)

All the sites that I have found this image, always says' one thing "Source Location : Unknown".
The sites are "Pinterest, Bored Panda, etc." The actually physical location "??"

That is the challenge.

There is reference to the bleachers, or very similar ones, in a novel.  The passage mentions the place in the picture below, and based in the late 18th century.  The brick walls and ivy/greenery in the original post, seems to resemble street views and one blue dot at this location; however, in Goggling this specific place I could find no other pictures of the bleachers or reference to them, but I have been very short on time for a few weeks.

Wasn't sure if this was just a normal puzzle, or if you wanted specific information (the novel, for instance) posted before others replied.

i'm just very very surprised that it seems there is no other pic of those seats!?!?

...going on with the search!...

Found the book, so maybe somewhere in this court?

The passage mentions the ladies under the umbrellas rising to their feet.  Krenek's picture shows the umbrellas at the side of the main court.  Maybe there, or across on the other side of the court??  Enjoyed the mention of the "new machine".

Not near the umbrellas that's for sure

Maybe the name of the novel and/or the stadium can be revealed now, so I could have a go at finding the bleachers?

Can't see how this typewriter bench is somewhow, connected with something to do with tennis.


But I think it could have a connection with this place it manufactured the first successful typewriter of "Sholes and Glidden".

Prehaps, in the novel, but in real life there is no indication of bleachers resembling a typewriter at Newport Casino.

Also, this quotation is misleading because even if the author talks about seats resembling typewriter keys, it is unlikely (in my opinion) that those seats had letters on them.

I enhanced the picture, focusing on the doors. Apparently its on street
with plant circle in the pavement. Unfortunately, I can't find any place 
in Newport Rhode Island that has those plant circles. The typewriter
bench is inside a building.

Great job. I still wonder if it is a real place and the bleachers (if that is the right word) are photoshopped with the letters on them.
