There is a perfectly round hole / lake in the soft alluvial soil of Southeast Missouri that appears to be an impact crater to me and a relatively fresh one at that. My mother is 78 and lived in West Tennessee in the early part of her life and she recalled a meteor that caused a sonic boom in the early 1940's and it supposedly impacted in the region according to news of the time. I was curious if THIS may have been where it hit. This has water inside the ring and a small ridge and then water outside the ring. Looks very natural, not man made. Impact Crater.kmz (730 B)

Man made to facilitate accessing water in the bog for irrigation of surrounding crops.
