Mystery Line?

On Boa Vista Island, one of the Cape Verde Islands; there is an interesting line that can be seen in "Google Earth" imagery.  The line is along the north beach of the island, over 5 miles long.  I originally suspected it could be a canal, perhaps from Atlantis.  But, there is Panoramio photos available around it, that show it to be a stone wall.  But, it's still mysterious!  Who builds a stone wall on a Islands beach for miles?

I don't see any wall. If anything, it could be a dirt road caused by vehicles. 
 Good find!

Use this place mark, and click on the Panoramio photo icon right next to the place mark.  You will see a stone wall, with a break in it showing the beach.  If you take some time to click all the icons for the photos on the beach; there are other pics of this wall.

Oh, now I see. Very interesting. Probably nothing to do with Atlantis, but it could be some sort of seawall dam that the natives of this island created. What an excellent find!
