Hi ET, Sometimes I have difficulty deciding where to go on my morning bike ride, but this post reminded me that I had never actually explored the East Canal, which formed the western boundary of the Osaka Castle before the outer moat was filled in 1614 and the castle was destroyed in 1615. Your placemark reminded me that I could ride that stretch of the old perimeter and make it home in 3 hours or so. I'm attaching the 3D shapes (so they are visible with 3D Buildings enabled) that I made of the moats of the original castle. I've never posted this before, and I suppose that with our small readership I never will, but please take my word that I have consulted numerous sources (most of which I'm not posting) and have explored most of the places on the ground, and I am confident that the locations are substantially accurate. Your four-level parking garage is not as rare as you might think here in Osaka (and I suspect in most cities where vertical space is less expensive than horizontal space), and really high-end residential buildings sometimes even have similar devices for bicycles. Many of the car parking structures are much higher. Here's a shot of your parking structure. All the signs are cautions, which would scare me off I think. It's not for public use, and appears to be associated with the office building to the west. I often pass (as I did this morning) this parking structure. It was noticing the P that caused me to finally tumble as to what all of those tall, narrow, windowless buildings were. I'm not a fan of Fun and Games, but if I were I might post this building, (which I also passed this morning), just because I think it's pretty cool. You might enjoy finding it.
